How to use the calculator
This page explains every field in the calculator form: what it's for and what kind of value to enter. The calculator combines your product and cost data with the marketplace's official tariff rules to compute your real net profit.
Marketplace and sales model
- Load a saved productIf you're logged in and have saved a product before, you can pick it to auto-fill purchase cost, weight, and dimensions. Optional.
- MarketplaceChoose which marketplace you're selling on. Only Uzum Market is fully supported right now; the others in the list (Ozon, Wildberries, Yandex Market) aren't implemented yet and are marked "Not yet supported".
- Sales modelChoose the storage and delivery scheme you're selling through - it directly affects the commission and logistics calculation. Uzum offers three options:
- FBO (Fulfillment by Operator)You ship stock to a Uzum warehouse - Uzum stores it, then picks, packs, and delivers it to the customer when an order comes in.
- FBS (Fulfillment by Seller)You store and pack the product yourself, then hand the order off to Uzum, which delivers it to the customer. Commission and logistics fees are the same as FBO.
- DBS (Delivery by Seller)You handle storage, packing, and delivery entirely yourself - Uzum only provides the storefront and marketing. No logistics fee is charged, only a sales commission.
- Product categoryPick the marketplace category your product is sold under. The commission percentage (and sometimes the logistics/storage tariff) often depends on the category, so this field matters for an accurate result. If the tariff for the chosen category isn't officially verified yet, the calculation may return an "unverified tariff" error - that's expected, not a bug.
Product details
- Purchase costEnter how much it costs you to buy or produce the product (required). This is the base cost the whole profit calculation is built on.
- Manufacturing costIf you have a separate manufacturing expense on top of purchase cost (e.g. you're the manufacturer), enter it here. Optional.
- CurrencyChoose the currency your prices are in (UZS, RUB, or USD).
- Weight (kg)The packaged (gross) weight of the product, in kilograms. Required.
- Dimensions (cm): length, width, heightThe package dimensions of the product, in centimeters. Optional, but recommended: these are used to compute volume (in liters), which feeds into Uzum's real logistics and storage tariff formulas. If left blank: the logistics fee is charged at its flat maximum rate, and the storage fee can't be computed at all (its formula requires volume).
Pricing
- What do you want to calculate?Choose what kind of result you want: a calculation at a fixed price, or have the calculator solve for the price you need.
- At this priceProfit, margin, and ROI are calculated at the exact selling price you enter.
- Break-even priceFinds the lowest selling price where profit is exactly 0 - below it you'd be operating at a loss.
- Target profitFinds the selling price needed to hit a specific profit amount you want (e.g. 500,000 UZS).
- Target marginFinds the selling price needed to hit a specific margin percentage you want (e.g. 20%).
- Target ROIFinds the selling price needed to hit a specific return-on-investment percentage you want.
- Selling priceThe actual price shown to the customer - used in "At this price" mode.
- Target valueDepending on the mode you picked (profit amount, margin %, or ROI %), enter the target number you want to reach.
- Price search rangeIn the target modes, the calculator searches for the right price within this range. Left blank, it defaults to 0 through 50x purchase cost - you usually don't need to change it.
Additional costs
- Seller costsAdd any extra costs you pay yourself here - packaging, labeling, transportation, advertising. Pick a type for each, then enter it as either a "Fixed amount" or "% of revenue".
- Cost typeChoose what this cost is for (packaging, advertising, etc.). Note: these costs belong to each unit of THIS product - including "Other fixed cost", which means "not a percentage of price, but an exact amount you already know", not "a monthly cost for the whole business". Enter monthly, business-wide costs like rent or staff salaries below, in the "Include fixed costs" section instead.
- Amount typeChoose how the cost is calculated: "Fixed amount" - an exact, unchanging amount per unit (e.g. 5,000 UZS); "% of revenue" - an amount calculated as a percentage of the selling price (e.g. 5% of price).
- Include fixed costsTurn this on to spread your monthly fixed costs (rent, staff salaries, etc.) across each unit sold. This differs from "Seller costs" above: those costs belong to the product itself as an exact amount, while these are a monthly, business-wide cost that needs to be allocated.
- Fixed cost rowFor each fixed cost, enter its name, its monthly amount, and how to allocate it ("Per unit" or "Per revenue").
- Expected monthly units / revenueTo correctly spread a fixed cost across a single unit, enter roughly how many units you expect to sell per month, or how much revenue you expect.
- Expected storage daysEstimate how many days the product will sit in the marketplace warehouse before selling - storage fees (where a tariff exists) are calculated from this.
- Return rate (%)Enter roughly what percentage of your orders get returned. This is never assumed to be 0% by default, since returns are a real cost.
Tax
- Include taxTurn this on if you pay tax on your sales, to add it to the calculation.
- Tax basisChoose how the tax is calculated: a percentage of revenue, a percentage of profit, a fixed amount per unit, or a fixed periodic (e.g. monthly) amount.
- Tax rate or amountDepending on the tax basis you picked, enter the percentage rate or the exact amount.
Promotions
- Promotion codeIf your product is part of a marketplace promotion, enter its code. Uzum's promotion mechanics aren't officially verified yet, so entering a code will currently return a "not supported" error.
Reading the result
- Cost breakdownShows every cost line in the result, along with its source and how confident it is.
- Confidence badgesShow how reliable each cost line is: "Verified" (from an official source), "Indexed" (found via search, not directly confirmed), "Estimated", or "Unverified".
- Price sensitivityDrag the price slider to see, in real time, how profit and margin change as the selling price changes.
- ScenariosEnter a start price, end price, and step to get a table and chart comparing several prices at once.
